Steve Acton our vice-chairman said that the girls team was started after years of nagging by his daughter, that she wanted to play football. A group of girls came to EKCO for training, the club then advertised for more players.The season 2004-2005 was spent training and playing friendly games, learning basics, practise and building a team.The club then ran three free coaching sessions in July 05 in order to attract more players and again advertised. The team registered with the Essex Girls football league based in Chelmsford under 15's and are now improving each game.
